The projects funded under this programme are international in scope or orientation, interdisciplinary and/or multi-stakeholder enterprises, pertaining to one or more of the following themes: Urban Futures; Conflict, Stability & Security; Justice, Rights & Equality; Europe’s Futures; and Knowledge Frontiers. They aim to:

  • Drive change in research agendas through promoting innovative research;
  • Produce policy-relevant insights;
  • Affect public understanding of international challenges and the responses needed to address societal questions of significance to the UK and the world;
  • Further cross-learning between disciplines and/or between academic, policy, practitioner and public communities on issues that are topical, under-explored or necessitate re-framing.
