Join members of Full Fact – winner of the 2022 British Academy President’s Medal – in conversation with Professor Julia Black PBA as they discuss their vital work combatting misinformation in the news and media. Discover the challenges of factchecking during a global pandemic, how they’re campaigning for honesty in politics and how they’re utilising AI in the fight against disinformation.

Full Fact is the first organisation to have ever received the prestigious President’s Medal in recognition of its work finding, exposing and countering misinformation and misleading claims. It was awarded to the organisation as a whole, rather than any one individual, to highlight the importance of effective teamwork and collaboration. Founded in 2008 by a cross-party group, Full Fact is a team of independent fact checkers and campaigners who seek to safeguard democracy by countering the spread of mis- and disinformation in the public sphere.

The medal is awarded by the President of the British Academy, Professor Julia Black who is Strategic Director of Innovation and Professor of Law at the London School of Economics and Political Science.
