President and Chief Executive meet President of Ireland

The President and Chief Executive of the British Academy met the President of Ireland today as part of a visit to Ireland to discuss the UK and Ireland’s history of academic collaboration.
Sir David Cannadine and Alun Evans were received by President Michael D. Higgins at Áras an Uachtaráin in Dublin.
They then met the British Ambassador to Ireland, Robin Barnett.
Later today, Sir David will give a Discourse at the Royal Irish Academy on ‘The Irish dimension to British History: From the Act of Union to Brexit.’
The British Academy and Royal Irish Academy have published on a series of joint Brexit Briefings highlighting key issues related to the UK’s withdrawal from the EU within the context of UK-Ireland relations.
