Summary

Diane Reay is Emeritus Professor of Education at the University of Cambridge.

She was educated at Newcastle University, University College, London and South Bank University, and was a primary school teacher before becoming an academic.

Her research focuses on social class, Pierre Bourdieu’s social theory, and inequalities in education. The second edition of her book ‘Miseducation: inequality, education and the working classes' was published in 2025.
