Honor Frost Foundation
AboutHonor Frost funding
The Honor Frost Foundation was founded in 2011 with a major bequest from the late Honor Frost (1917-2010), an early pioneer in the field of underwater archaeology.
The Foundation’s mission is to promote the advancement and research, including publication, of maritime archaeology with particular focus on the eastern Mediterranean, specifically Lebanon, Syria, Cyprus and also Egypt.
The Foundation provides a range of grants and initiatives to support maritime archaeology with a focus on the following areas:
- Education and training
- Capacity and resource building
- Management and protection
- Dissemination and publication
Through the HFF British Academy Small Research Grants scheme the Foundation aims to support projects related to maritime archaeology beyond the HFF region. Therefore, these grants do not need to have any regional focus, thus encompassing the breadth of maritime archaeological research.
