Summary

This project focused on five areas of the UK (Birmingham / West Midlands, Greater Manchester, Liverpool City Region, Scotland and Wales) to explore the challenges and best practices of policymakers and civil society organisations promoting digital inclusion in those areas. It examined the in-depth perspectives and experiences of two under-researched groups (policymakers and civil society organisations) and what initiatives are currently being implemented in their areas. Elite interviews supplemented by an online survey were conducted with both policymakers and organisations in each of the five areas. The data was analysed to produce key findings and recommendations for advancing policy and practice in digital inclusion in the UK.
