Childhood Policy Programme: Children’s Rights Policy Lab

In November 2021, a virtual Policy Lab focused on children’s rights took place as part of the Childhood Policy Programme. The overarching question participants considered was How can children’s rights be embedded within policy and policymaking across the four parts of the UK?

The Lab brought together a small number of senior-level stakeholders from within the policy ecosystem to engage actively with the relevant available evidence and insight on children’s rights, and they worked together over three workshops to come up with practical, policy-focused solutions. A series of parallel sessions with a group of children and young people took place in order to explore their views and to enable young people’s voices to feed directly into the Policy Lab discussion. A report summarising the discussions at the Policy Lab, and at the sessions with children and young people, is available.
