The British Academy responds to the UKRI Open Access Review consultation

UKRI’s Open Access Review consultation represents a key moment in the debate about future Open Access policy – particularly as it includes proposals for extending Open Access to monographs for the first time. While recognising the value of Open Access, the British Academy argues that any new policies – particularly any that might apply to future REFs – should promote the extended use of Open Access in a way that is sustainable and does not jeopardise the academic dissemination ecosystem.
