This Writing Workshops Follow-up Project (WWFP) builds directly on our earlier 2018 workshop initiative. The Covid 19 pandemic (2020-22) badly disrupted international collaborations and research activities and calls for a reboot. At the same time, some Pakistani universities, including our partner institution GCU Lahore, have recently increased investment in the Humanities, a move that offers fresh opportunities to enhance the social and political profile of the relatively neglected subject area of History there. Moreover, several alumni from our 2018 workshops are now in established posts and eager to mentor research students and other early-career colleagues in an internationally collaborative research environment. So, as well as WWFP consolidating the development of academic skills that feed into successful publication strategies, it will also address participants’ broader career-development, including their role as future research mentors by focusing on how to become effective supervisors the next generation of MPhil and PhD students.

Workshop Team: Professor Sarah Ansari, Royal Holloway, University of London; Dr Hussain Ahmad Khan, Government College University, Lahore.
