The proposed Writing Development and Mentoring Network (SEANet) will enhance the scholarly-publication and grant-application success rates of early-career researchers (ECRs) who work in the field of Education and are based at universities in Southeast Asia. The network will integrate participating ECRs into a vibrant research community led by senior and mid-career academics at Coventry University, the Philippine Normal University (the Philippines), Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (Malaysia), and Phu Xuan University (Vietnam). The current proposal builds on and cascades further the achievements of an earlier British Academy-funded initiative, by working with the eight successful alumni of the original programme and recruiting up to 12 new participants who can demonstrate the potential to publish within the set time-frame. The network activities will include a mix of face-to-face workshops held at the Philippine partner institution, and online writing and mentoring consultations over a period of two years (March 2023 – March 2025).
Workshop team: Dr Dimitar Angelov, Coventry University; Professor Adonis David, Philippine Normal University; Dr Nurbieta Abd Aziz, Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris; Professor Deanne Lynn Clouder, Coventry University.
