This proposal is based on strong links with well-established partnerships between South Africa and the UK who have reputable academic careers and a wealth of writing expertise as authors, editors, peer reviewers and national and international grant holders. This proposed workshop programme is aimed at 22 Early Career Researchers. This will include those either in final stages of PhD completion or within 10 years since defence. We will provide the forum for ECRs working within higher education disciplines across health, humanities and social scientist disciplines as well as associated professions. They will be joined by an experienced team of 5 mentors, who are experts in their field as researchers, educators and journal editors. The overall aim is to provide a writing programme across 24 months that can meet individual and group objectives and that can support and strengthen SA outputs including journal publications and grant submissions whilst improving writing capacities.

Workshop team: Dr Kathryn Hinsliff-Smith, De Montfort University; Dr Moreoagae Bertha Randa, Nursing Science; Professor Julie McGarry, University of Sheffield; Professor Heike Bartel, The University of Nottingham; Professor Hester Klopper, Stellenbosch University, SA.
