While the number of universities and researchers has risen steadily in Turkey over the past decade, there is an insufficient increase in the number of articles published in high-impact academic journals. This project will provide a timely intervention to address this problem in the field of political science through training and mentoring 15 promising ECRs from across the country. Training will be offered in two workshops where the ECRs will benefit from the expertise of journal editors and experienced academic authors to develop essential skills in writing and publishing as well as get advice on career development. The first workshop will be co-hosted by the Turkish Political Science Association and will coincide with its annual congress in 2023 to provide an opportunity for the ECRs to widen their professional network. The ECRs will also have regular, individualized mentoring that will guide them through the stages of writing pre- and post-submission.

Workshop team: Dr Ozge Zihnioglu, University of Liverpool; Dr Hasret Dikici Bilgin, Bilgi University; Dr Berk Esen, Sabanci University; Dr Meral Ugur Cinar, Bilkent University; Professor Yaprak Gursoy, London School of Economic and Political Science (LSE).
