Stanton's focus is looking into antibiotic access challenges in South-East Asia, particularly on last-line critical antibiotics and their barriers to entry to four countries in the region. In the context of 'Just Transitions for AMR' he will conduct qualitative interviews with various key stakeholder groups involved in the whole process of antibiotic access to understand current challenges, perspectives and potential solutions for equitable and sustainable access to last-line critical antibiotics. Stanton's output is to produce and publish an opinion paper in a high impact journal detailing findings on antibiotic access, followed by conducting a Delphi panel with key thought leaders to obtain agreement/consensus on the conclusions of the study. Ultimately in the study, Stanton hopes to create a white paper to engage with funders, ministries of health etc, to elicit further dialogue, policy change, concrete action and additional funding and support.
