Realising the potential for academic publishing among Vietnamese media scholars: a general training and bespoke mentoring project

The workshop(s) for this project will take place in Vietnam - Hanoi and Da Nang.
Project status

This project aims to realise the unfulfilled potential for academic publishing of media and communication scholars at ten leading Vietnamese universities. It does so by providing them with (a) interactive workshops to raise general understanding of international academic publishing, its current landscape and its key writing conventions; (b) networking and knowledge exchange with and individualised feedback from experienced authors, editors and research funders; and (c) personalised mentoring opportunities in which selected Vietnamese mentees, under the guidance of four productive UK and US professors, learn on the job from co-authoring journal articles, developing grant proposals, guest-editing special journal issues, and disseminating the output through a conference.

Workshop Team:

Professor An Nguyen, Bournemouth University; Dr Tuong-Minh Ly-Le, Van Lang University; Dr Tuan-Ann Vu, Faculty of International Communication and Culture, Diplomacy Academy of Vietnam; Dr Minh Yen Tran, Da Nang University of Science and Education.
