Dr David Braun
Dr Braun has conducted field research in Kenya, Ethiopia, South Africa, Mozambique and Guinea, and is particularly interested in investigating how humans transfer information between individuals.

He has begun to investigate how this can be measured in humans and our closest living relatives, chimpanzees. During his time in the UK, Dr Braun will be working with colleagues at the University of Oxford who study the origins of tool use and their correlates in primates. He will also be investigating some of the earliest known tool use amongst our earliest ancestors from sites in Kenya and Ethiopia. Ultimately, Dr Braun hopes to understand how the uniquely human trait of high fidelity information transfer evolved.
