Dr Aikaterini Florou
Aikaterini Florou is Legal Officer at the Directorate-General for Energy of the European Commission. For the duration of her Visiting Fellowship she is hosted by Queen Mary University, London.

Dr Florou works on arbitration, the Energy Charter Treaty, the evaluation of intergovernmental agreements of EU Member States with third countries, and the role of liquefied natural gas in energy security and EU-Japan relations.
Previously, Dr Florou has worked for the Legal Service of the European Commission, the OECD, and the Legal Advisory Council to the Greek State. During her time in the UK, her research will focus on the role and challenges of arbitration as the new dominant mechanism for the resolution of disputes between the United Kingdom and foreign investors in a post-Brexit context.
