Pablo Imbach, a Climate Action Lead at CATIE in Costa Rica, has over two decades of experience in climate change, land use, and sustainable development. His work focuses on ecosystem services, including modelling and quantitative analysis of ecosystem responses to climate change, agricultural and hydrological dynamics, and Nature-based Solutions (NbS) for adaptation and risk reduction. Imbach's professional interests lie in framing, building evidence, and planning to enable NbS to manage AMR and the potential synergies for climate adaptation and mitigation in the global south.

Specific projects:

  • Commentary piece on NbS for AMR (initially with Sonia Lewycka, Tea Skrinjaric, and Sander Chan, to be later expanded to the broader team)
  • Scoping review on NbS for AMR and climate change (with Gloria and Sonia Lewycka)
  • Case study in Costa Rica on monitoring AMR on water and soils and characterizing antibiotic use in humans and agriculture (with Sonia Lewycka, Hai Ngo, Tea Skrinjaric, and colleagues from the University of Costa Rica)
