Field
Science communication/public engagement with science
Professor Joubert's focus is on public communication of science, and how/why researchers and research organisations engage with society. In the context of the 'Just Transitions for antimicrobial resistance (AMR)' programme, she is particularly interested in the role players who communicate about AMR (ie the views and voices that are visible in public) and the (in)consistencies in their messages, as well as the audiences that are reached/engaged and/or overlooked.
Specific projects:
- Responsive dialogues on AMR in South Africa (Knowledge translation grant)
- Research projects on communication of AMR (including mapping exercise of major public communicators about AMR and their messages (globally), and a comparative analysis of National Actions Plans relevant to AMR in terms of public science communication and engagement)
- General communication and media support for programme
