Catherine Dussault is an Assistant Professor of Sociology and Anthropology at the University of Ottawa. Her research focuses on self-determination in Nunavik (Arctic Québec), where she collaborates on community-driven projects at the intersection of governance, justice, and decolonization. She has a keen interest in research conducted by and for Indigenous Peoples, particularly when it seeks to break with colonial domination. Her work aims to capture the originality of the contributions made by Indigenous researchers, and to support initiatives aimed at achieving greater self-determination in this sphere. By centering Inuit knowledge and priorities, her work also seeks to foster equitable transformations during energy transitions and climate crises.
