Project

We propose a highly interactive international workshop with three key components: writing for publication, career coaching, and research collaboration. The intersection of these components cultivates a supportive environment between researchers in the UK and in the Global South and promotes the uptake of their research in academic journals.

The aim of this workshop is to provide support and develop the skills of early career researchers (ECRs) from the Global South, particularly in Kenya and Senegal. To support and promote the uptake of their research in high-impact international journals, publications, and grant awards, this workshop provides the necessary knowledge to stimulate their professional networks, develop research partnerships, and advise on international career development. It does so through a train the trainer´s approach, in a blended delivery mode (online and in person) to understand the challenges and activate the opportunities for ECRs in the Global South.

Workshop Team: Dr Kirk Semple, Lancaster University; Professor Caroline Thoruwa, Kenyatta University; Dr Mary Mwangi, Kenyatta University; Professor Mohamadou Guelaye Sall, National Academy of Sciences and Techniques; Dr Ahouidi Ambroise D, IRESSEF Senegal; Dr Akanimo Odon, Lancaster University.
