Scholars based in the Global South remain less likely than their counterparts in the Global North to have their papers published in high impact journals. This underrepresentation is especially notable in scholarship relating to the multidisciplinary field of childhood studies and the region of sub-Saharan Africa. In particular, while there has been a proliferation of literature on childhoods and Africa respectively, most of these have been authored by Northern-based academics. Therefore, this project seeks to address this uneven representation in scholarship by focusing on childhood studies as they specifically relate to sub-Saharan Africa.
