The Thesaurus Linguae Latinae, based in Munich, Germany, is working to produce the first comprehensive scholarly dictionary of the ancient Latin language from the earliest times down to AD600. The work, which currently runs to some 17 volumes, is based on an archive of about 10 million slips which takes account of all surviving texts. It should also soon be available on CD-Rom.
