Voltaire (1694–1778) was the undisputed leader of the Age of Enlightenment. This is the first ever complete critical edition of the complete works of Voltaire and the first complete edition to appear in over a hundred years. The edition contains hitherto unedited texts, texts which have not been republished since their original publication, rare works, newly researched historical and critical introductory chapters to the chosen base texts, Voltaire's own notes on his text, as well as all the known authentic variants.
