To explore the history of in vitro fertilisation techniques using archival and interview sources

The project has three aims:

  • To conduct interviews with key scientists, journalist and policy makers involved in the clinical translation of human IVF in the postwar period in the UK
  • To find, deposit and catalogue archival material relevant to this period
  • To produce an interdisciplinary account of IVF as a case study in biomedical translation
