The workshops will foster capacity and develop platforms for collaborative research on inequality in Africa. They will achieve this by building shared institutional research cultures; establishing and facilitating knowledge exchange; and creating durable, inclusive, and reciprocal networks between researchers in Africa and Europe. The workshop focus on shared capacity building and reciprocity is important in the ongoing decolonising of new knowledge production about inequality. The intended focus of these collaborations is to develop individual skills and shared research capacity, to produce collaborative and measurable outputs and to use these to influence policy and practice to reduce socio-economic and gender inequality. The workshop participants will be early career researchers focusing on the political economy of inequality, drawn broadly from across the humanities and social sciences.

Workshop Team: Dr Sophia Price, Leeds Beckett University; Dr Adewale Aderemi, National Institute for Democratic and Legislative Studies, Nigeria; Professor Alexandra Nunn, University of Derby
