First recipients of new Global Innovation Fellowships, in partnership with the German Council on Foreign Relations, announced by the British Academy

The first awardees under a new British Academy funding scheme, Global Innovation Fellowships have been announced today, marking the UK-Germany Research & Innovation Bilateral Dialogue. The scheme, launched in July 2023, offers early and mid-career researchers in the humanities and social sciences up to £150,000 across a one-year fellowship to develop their skills, networks and careers in the creative, cultural, public, private and policy sectors, to address challenges which require innovative approaches and solutions. These Global Innovation Fellowships are hosted at the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP)’s headquarters in in Berlin.
The awardees for the 2024 Global Innovation Fellowships: German Council on Foreign Relations are:
- Dr Erin Pobjie, Assistant Professor of International Law at Essex Law School, University of Essex – awarded £149,982.04 for research into Technology and International Affairs
- Dr Yuka Kobayashi, Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in China and International Politics at SOAS, University of London - awarded £149,906 for research into Global Order and Disorder
