Fellows of the British Academy recognised in Queen’s Birthday Honours 2022

Four Fellows of the British Academy have been recognised in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list, in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the humanities and social sciences.
They are:
- Dame Marina Warner FBA, who has been made a Member of the Order of the Companions of Honour, for services to the Humanities
- Professor Linda Colley FBA, who has been made a Dame, for services to History.
- Professor Timothy Ingold FBA, who has been made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire, for services to Anthropology
- Professor Fiona Steele FBA, who has been made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire, for services to the Social Sciences.
Professor Julia Black, President of the British Academy, said:
“I’m delighted to see so many of our Fellows honoured in the Queen’s Birthday Honours. Each of them has made many important contributions to their discipline and to the advancement of the SHAPE subjects (Social Sciences, Humanities and the Arts for People and the Economy). It is wonderful that their work has received such tremendous recognition.”
