Fellows of the British Academy recognised in Queen’s Birthday Honours 2021

Three Fellows of the British Academy were conferred with public honours in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list, in recognition of outstanding achievements across the United Kingdom.
The following scholars were recognised for their contributions to the humanities and social sciences:
- Professor John Kay FBA received a Knighthood for services to Economics, Finance and Business.
- Professor Tom Shakespeare FBA received a CBE for services to Disability Research.
- Professor Sally Shuttleworth FBA received a CBE for services to the study of English Literature.
Professor Sir David Cannadine, President of the British Academy, said:
“I offer my warmest congratulations to all those Fellows who have been awarded honours today in recognition of their distinguished achievements. I am most delighted to see esteemed academics in the humanities and social sciences recognised for their contributions to scholarship and public life.”
