The British Academy responds to Government's planned fast-track visa route for researchers
9 Aug 2019
In response to the Government’s announcement of a new fast-track visa route, Professor Sir David Cannadine, President of the British Academy, said:
“We welcome the Prime Minister’s announcement that visa restrictions on talented researchers will be relaxed, and that it will be easier for highly qualified academics from around the world to come to the UK. This is something for which the British Academy, alongside our sister institutions, has long argued. It is important that humanities and social sciences are included within the arrangements, as they will be critical to realising the stated ambitions of an open internationalist UK. We look forward to working with Government on the details.”
