British Academy Fellows recognised in King’s Birthday Honours

Six Fellows of the British Academy have been conferred Honours in The King’s Birthday Honours list, in recognition of their outstanding contribution to the humanities and social sciences.

They are:

• Professor Peter Fonagy OBE, lead of the Division of Psychology and Language Sciences, University College London is made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire for services to Mental Health Care for Children and Young People

• Professor Barbara Jacquelyn Sahakian, Professor of Clinical Neuropsychology, University of Cambridge, is made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire, for services to Research in Human Cognitive Processes

• Professor Joanna Bourke, Professor of History, Birkbeck, University of London, is made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire for services to the Social Sciences

• Professor Harriet Ann Bulkeley, Professor of Geography and Deputy Executive Dean, Research, Durham University, is made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire for services to Geography and to Environmental Governance

• Professor Henry George Overman, Professor of Economic Geography, London School of Economics and Director at the What Works Centre, is made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire for services to Local Growth

• Professor Roderick Beaton, writer and historian is made a Knight Bachelor for services to History and to UK/Greece relations
