Paul Langford, 1945-2015, had a notable influence on how the political history of eighteenth-century England was written and thought about. His publications included Public Life and the Propertied Englishman. He was Rector of Lincoln College, Oxford, between 2000 and 2012. To read his memoir, written by Paul Slack, click here:

Glyn Humphreys, 1954-2016, was a distinguished and influential figure in British neuropsychology and cognitive science. Core topics in his work were attention and vision. He held posts at Birkbeck College London, and at the universities of Birmingham and Oxford, and was the first non-US editor of the Journal of Experimental Psychology: Human Perception and Performance.
