Dr Jan Machielsen is currently Departmental Lecturer in Early Modern European History at New College, Oxford. He was a British Academy Postdoctoral Fellow from January 2012 to September 2013. His British Academy Postdoctoral Fellowship Monograph – Martin Delrio: Demonology and Scholarship in the Counter-Reformation – was published in February 2015. In January 2016 he will be taking up a lectureship in early modern history at Cardiff University.
Dr Andrew Mumford is Associate Professor in Politics and
International Relations, at the University of Nottingham.
He was the convenor of a British Academy Conference
held in June 2015, which considered how new approaches
to the study of terrorism reveal the processes and outcomes
of terrorist ‘learning’.
A British Academy Conference on ‘The Race Relations Act
@ 50’ was held on 9-10 July 2015. The conference was
convened by Dr Iyiola Solanke of the University of Leeds
and Mr Patrick Maddams of the Honourable Society of the
