Join artists Eva Louisa Jonas and Maya Brasington for a hands-on photography workshop at Porchester Castle, where you’ll create your own artistic response to this historic site.

Perfect for anyone aged eight and upwards, the workshop kicks off with a fascinating introduction from historians about the powerful stories of Black prisoners of war who were once held at the castle. Then, dive into simple and engaging photography activities, using your smartphone to explore and capture the traces of history scattered throughout the castle grounds.

To get the most out of this workshop, please bring your smartphone.

This event is part of the Being Human Festival, the UK’s only festival of the humanities. Being Human is supported by Research England, in partnership with the British Academy and the Arts and Humanities Research Council.
