Zines have historically provided a unique platform for underrepresented and marginalised voices, especially those overlooked by mainstream media. These self-published, handmade booklets offer the creative freedom and space to express yourself on your own terms and foreground the issues that matter most to you.

Join us for an empowering discussion and zine-making workshop with British Academy funded researcher Dr Mindy Ptolomey and Lu Williams, creator of Grrrl Zine Fair. Discover the rich history of DIY publishing, learn about the important role zines have played within marginalised communities, and start crafting your own narrative.

Please join us at the bar from 18:00. The Grrrl Zine library will be available to browse. The conversation will start at 18:30, and the workshop will begin at 19:15. Participants are welcome to stay at the Academy until 21:00.
