This event is part of the Cheltenham Science Festival.

Science shows that the effects of racism are far-reaching, impacting relationships, healthcare and the justice system. Cutting through divisive anecdotes and rhetoric with rigorous research, psychologist Keon West examines the data that reveals truths about racism that are shocking and tragic, but also (somehow) funny and entertaining.

Chaired by Dr Annabel Sowemimo. Annabel's book Divided: Racism, Medicine and Why We Need to Decolonise Healthcare was shortlisted for the 2024 British Academy Book Prize.

Speaker: Keon West
