Cartoons designed to ridicule leaders and their policies have been a feature of political life both in the UK and internationally for centuries. Dr Britta Martens explores the art form from a historical angle, focusing upon satirical portrayals of Napoleon III in the Victorian era, while leading cartoonist Gary Barker discusses contemporary cartooning, offering an insight into his creative process.
