Important exhibitions about Sicily and the Sicilian seas will be taking place at the British Museum, London, and Ashmolean Museum in Oxford in 2016. The curator of the British Museum exhibition Dr Lesley Fitton (Keeper in the Greece and Rome department at the British Museum) discussed the themes and objects included in these shows, and explored what we can learn about this largest island in the Mediterranean, its culture, conquest, and maritime commerce and challenges.
