As part of Open House, discover the historic home of the British Academy, the UK’s national academy for the humanities and social sciences. Explore the Grade 1 listed John Nash-designed terraced houses whose previous residents include former Prime Minister William Gladstone and the Ridley family. Guided and self-guided tours will take you through the art, architecture and history of 10-11 Carlton House Terrace, from their 19th-century beginnings to the present day.

Free, drop in. No booking required.
Entrance is on a first come, first served basis. Visitors will be asked to queue outside if the building is at capacity.

Guided tours run every half hour between 12:30 and 15:00, with a maximum of 10 people per tour. Self-guided tours are available between 12:00-15:30 (last entry is 15:30, with the building closing at 16:00).

All events are staged in line with the government’s COVID-19 guidelines and our venue’s COVID-19 guidelines. Measures are subject to change in accordance with government guidance; attendees will be notified of any changes prior to their visit.
