Mary Beard is one of Britain’s best-known Classicists: her BBC TV series Meet the Romans aired in 2012, and she writes an engaging and thought-provoking blog, A Don’s Life. In this lecture, Professor Beard offered reflections on the study of Classics today, nationally and internationally, now and in the future – from philology to interdisciplinarity, from nostalgia to impact.
