This event explored the challenges posed by record keeping in both its historical and contemporary contexts. It raised questions about the relationship between archival practice and historical knowledge from the perspective of record custodians and record users. Bringing together professional historians, practising archivists and members of the public, it also sought to encourage lively debate about future decision-making and the creation of policies in this critical area.
