Dr Thor Berger

Thor Berger is currently a Post-Doctoral Fellow at Lund University, Sweden. For the duration of his Visiting Fellowship he is hosted by the University of Oxford.

Dr Thor BergerDr Berger's research examines how the proliferation of online platforms is affecting the UK labour market, analysing how the rise of 'gig work' affects the earnings and subjective well-being of workers. His research also touches upon issues of intergenerational mobility by asking whether the pervasive job polarisation, that is a key feature of labour markets at least since the 1980s, has reduced the potential for economic and social advancement for children from low- and middle-income families.
