Professor Rohit Jigyasu

Rohit Jigyasu is Professor at Ritsumeikan University, Japan. For the duration of his Visiting Fellowship he is hosted by Loughborough University.

Professor Jigyasu is a conservation architect and disaster risk management professional from India. He is the elected Vice President of the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) and President of the Indian National Committee of ICOMOS (ICOMOS-India) and the International Scientific Committee on Risk Preparedness. He is also the Trustee of the Indian Historic Cities Network Foundation.


Professor Jigyasu has been a consultant for several national and international organisations such as Archaeological Survey of India, Indian National Institute of Disaster Management, UNESCO, ICCROM, the World Bank and the Getty Conservation Institute. 


During his time in the UK, Professor Jigyasu will be conducting research on the challenges and opportunities for mainstreaming cultural heritage in larger disaster risk management and climate change adaptation policies and practices in the UK and abroad.
