This programme provides academics based in any country overseas (and active at any career stage) with the opportunity to be based at a UK higher education or other research institution of their choice for up to six months.
Professor Jack Jacobs
Jack Jacobs is Professor of Political Science at John Jay College and the Graduate Centre, City University of New York, USA. For the duration of his Visiting Fellowship he is hosted by Birkbeck, University of London.
During his time in the UK, Professor Jacobs will conduct research on a project entitled Antisemitism, Racism, and the Left: International Perspectives. His intent is to study the degree, if any, to which recent relationships between the British Labour Party and much of British Jewry may be explained by reference to overarching, internationally evident trends, rather than local events and personalities. He will focus on the attitudes of contemporary British Jews towards the British Labour Party.
We foster international collaboration in the humanities and social sciences, and promote the sharing of international perspectives on global challenges.
