How our Fellows are elected
Every year a limited number of new Fellows from across the disciplines of the humanities and social sciences are elected to the British Academy on the basis of their academic record. Only one or two scholars a year are elected in most fields, even though there may be several hundred scholars active in the field in question. The electoral process is therefore exacting and rigorous.
