Extract relating to military intelligence work:
In 1939 she was seconded to the Foreign Office for confidential work; in her spare time, such as it was, she worked on the translation of Eduard Fraenkel's great edition of the Agamemnon of Aeschylus, and to this work he has paid tribute. She did not then know that she had left Oxford for good, but in 1944 she married Professor T. B. L. Webster, who had been working for the same section of the Foreign Office, and when the war ended went with him to Manchester, where he was Professor of Greek.
[This obituary, published in 1968, was written too soon after the War for work at Bletchley Park to be publicly acknowledged.]
