Dr Jeremy Speight

Jeremy Speight is Assistant Professor at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, USA. For the duration of the Visiting Fellowship he will be hosted by Loughborough University.

Jeremy SpeightDuring his time in the UK, Dr Speight will be collaborating with Dr Giulia Piccolino on a project that examines differences in the post-conflict institutionalisation of wartime rebel governance and authority. The country focus of this research is Côte d’Ivoire, where former rebels have played varied post-conflict roles in the communities they governed during the country's armed conflict (2002-2011). Explanations of these differences have significant implications for understanding other aspects of post-conflict politics in Côte d’Ivoire and elsewhere, including the use of political violence, democratisation and state-building.
