Thesaurus Linguae Latinae

To write and publish a scholarly dictionary of the whole of ancient Latin, based on the critical examination of all available sources and surpassing in size, exactness and comprehensive coverage all previous Latin dictionaries

General Editor: Dr Michael Hillen
Managing Secretary: Dr Manfred Flieger
UK Coordinator: Professor Stephen Oakley FBA

The Thesaurus Linguae Latinae, based in Munich, Germany, is working to produce the first comprehensive scholarly dictionary of the ancient Latin language from the earliest times down to AD600. The work, which currently runs to some 17 volumes, is based on an archive of about 10 million slips which takes account of all surviving texts. It should also soon be available on CD-Rom.
