Painting in Britain, 1500–1630: Production, Influences, and Patronage wins book prize

An Oxford University Press/British Academy-published book about Tudor and Jacobean painting has been awarded the joint prize for best multi-authored work for 2015 by The Historians of British Art.

Painting in Britain, 1500–1630: Production, Influences, and Patronage was edited by Tarnya Cooper, Aviva Bunstock, Maurice Howard, and Edward Town. The judging panel said the book ‘will be an essential source for those working in the fields of art history, conservation and material science, and of interest to lovers of British Tudor and Stuart painting.’

It was joint winner with Lawrence Alloway: Critic and Curator, published by Getty Publications.
