In June 2009, the British Academy hosted a workshop to discuss some of the exciting new
texts pieced together by the Oxyrhynchus Papyri project – followed in the evening by a public presentation. Professor Peter Parsons FBA describes how these fragmentary documents give a unique insight into Greco-Roman civilisation.
