The aims of the IRIS Lab are:
- To create a searchable and freely accessible international repository of instruments and materials that are used to collect data for research into how second languages are learned and how they may best be taught
- To embed IRIS within a range of communities including: HE researchers, language teacher and teacher educators, and student researchers
- To improve the transparency and accessibility of data collection techniques, with a view to enhancing the quantity and quality of systematic research agendas in different contexts, and to facilitating the research process for non-career and early career researchers
